Haden & Custance gets their Daisy Chain Rollers
Haden and Custance are global leaders in the automation of bulk cheese and butter products, supplying to over 130 companies in the USA, UK, Australia and New Zealand.
Myriad Engineering enjoys a very successful relationship with Haden and Custance dating back to 2000.
Recently, we developed 1200 Daisy Chain Rollers as part of a new export order Haden and Custance had won.
Extremely Tight Timeframes Only One Factor
“The project came to us with extremely tight timeframes requiring us to source specialist raw materials from China and having them urgently airfreighted to us. This was a great option as the cost of airfreight was surprisingly cost effective,” says Mark Wilson, Director of Myriad Engineering.
“With the raw materials on the way, we used this time to research and develop a custom made rotating jig that would work the robotic welder. This jig was designed to be easily used again for future projects, keeping the cost to Haden and Custance to a minimum.
The Technology
Once all the materials were onsite, and the robotic welder tested, manufacturing could start. The robotic welder welded the joins while our operators assembled the bearings on other parts. With several work streams underway simultaneously, our team were able to manufacture the daisy chain rollers meeting the very tight timeframes, as well as budget, quality and quantity requirements.
“We chose Myriad to help us with this because we went out for tender and Myriad Engineering offered the best price and could meet the timeframe. And of course, they delivered.”

The Outcome, in the Client’s Words
“We chose Myriad to help us with this because we went out for tender and Myriad Engineering offered the best price and could meet the timeframe. And of course, they delivered. The rollers went straight into the machine first time. There was no rework, no nothing – easy really.”
“We have worked with Myriad for many years now. They’re a good company to work with, simply because they do what they say they will do. Their follow up is very good and so is their attention to detail.”
